Kiesewetter Angus is a family operation built on generations of passion for the Angus breed. Our story began in the early 1950s when our family's first Angus heifer was purchased by our mom Alice, from legendary breeder J.C. McLean of Quincy, Illinois. That early investment sparked a lifelong commitment to raising quality Angus cattle and laid the foundation for what would become Kiesewetter Angus.

In 1970, our parents, Ed and Alice Kiesewetter established Kiesewetter Angus in west-central Illinois, where our family continues to raise cattle today. Over the years, multiple generations of the Kiesewetter family have remained actively involved in the operation, sharing a commitment to responsible stewardship, continuous improvement, and producing cattle that work for commercial and seedstock producers alike.

We believe lasting success is built through consistency, not chasing trends. Every breeding decision is made with the goal of producing practical, balanced cattle that excel in fertility, longevity, structural soundness, and maternal strength. Those principles have guided our program for decades and continue to shape the genetics we offer today.

In 2020, we partnered with Bear Mountain Angus in Palisade, Nebraska, to market our bulls and females. Our shared commitment to balanced, practical genetics and customer success has created a partnership that strengthens both programs. By combining proven bloodlines and complementary breeding philosophies, we're able to offer consistent, high-quality genetics backed by generations of experience.
